April 8th is taken as the Buddha's birthday. I will be in Kyoto, and offer for the journey and for my friends a haiku from this two volume scholarly work, privately published by Toshiharu Oseko.
On Buddha's birthday
Praying with wrinkled hands
The sound of rosaries
Kambutsu ya
shiwade awasura
juzu no oto
