Miroku bosatsu

 


Miroku 弥勒 (Sanskrit, Maitreya) is the future Buddha, alternatively depicted as a bodhisattva (bosatsu 菩薩) as in the famous example above from Kōryū-ji [広隆寺] in Kyōto. More to come.
